Most mushrooms are made of two key parts:
Mycelium – the underground root-like network that supports growth and nutrient absorption.
Fruiting Body – the above-ground structure, which is rich in bioactive compounds like beta-glucans, triterpenes, and polysaccharides.
While many functional mushroom brands use mycelium, which is cheaper and mixed with starch, we exclusively use fruiting bodies, which contain the highest concentration of active compounds for maximum purity and efficacy.
* For Chaga and Poria, we use the sclerotium, the densest part of the mushroom where the most beneficial compounds are concentrated.

Raw mushroom powders contain chitin, a tough fiber that renders most of the beneficial compounds like beta-glucans, triterpenes, and polysaccharides indigestible for your body.
MOGU exclusively uses extracts to ensure you get the most out of every dose.
Extraction made exact.
Every mushroom has unique bioactive compounds that require wholly unique processes to unlock. Tailoring our methods for each mushroom, we go through at least 3 steps of extractions to maximize the purity and potency of every dose.
✔ Hot Water Extraction – Best for beta-glucans, a compound known for powerful immune-boosting properties.
✔ Alcohol Extraction – Essential for adaptogenic benefits, like those that aid in liver support.
✔ Dual Extraction – A combination of both methods, used for mushrooms such as Chaga and Reishi, to fully release all active compounds.
After extraction, the liquid is carefully concentrated, filtered, and spray-dried into a highly soluble extract powder, free from excess fiber, fillers, or ineffective raw material.

Every MOGU batch undergoes comprehensive testing across multiple stages of production. After our suppliers test, we then partner with Eurofins, a world leader in analytical testing, as well as Alkemist Labs, leader in botanic compounds testing, to conduct our own verifications.
